Ward 1 priorities
Let’s continue to work together to make it even better. Sandra brings experience, leadership, interest, and drive to the work of moving Waterloo forward.
Together for today and tomorrow.
Representing Ward 1 on council has been a fulfilling experience. Sandra continues to meet with neighbourhood associations, homeowners’ associations, and community groups to understand residents’ priorities.
It is important to hear varying viewpoints and suggestions. Good representation means listening carefully, finding fair solutions, and following through.

Keep school areas safe, make room for walkers and cyclists, and find fair, responsible solutions for everyone on our streets.
Champion parks, green spaces, local businesses, neighbourhood groups, inclusion, and the everyday connections that make Ward 1 feel like home.
Recognize the pressure rising costs place on families and continue to budget responsibly for our ward and city.
Ward 1 is a community of attractive neighbourhoods, good neighbours, parks, green spaces, and local businesses. It is welcoming, diverse, and stronger when residents and community groups work together.
During Sandra’s two terms, council has focused on economic growth, safer streets, climate action, infrastructure, and stronger systems for Indigenous initiatives, anti-racism, and equity.
She wants to continue that important work while keeping Ward 1’s priorities at the centre of the conversation. That work must also include responsible water management and dependable roads and infrastructure that support daily life across Ward 1.
A shared responsibility
